WOW. What a 24 hours!

It all began at 10 PM on Thursday. The first two laps were a bit quick as the adrenaline flowed, but the pace eventually settled. A huge thanks to Steve Gardner Snr, who kept me company through the graveyard shift between midnight and 3 AM.

As the night turned to morning, other walkers came and went before heading off to work. My wife joined me at 5:30 AM, along with Claire and Stacey (big thanks, ladies!). Around this time, the morning commute started, and the support was amazing—so many cars passing by and beeping their horns! Also, my apologies to anyone who spotted us between 6:30 and 8 AM. Walking with Stacey and Howard, it honestly looked like a carer taking two of her patients out for a stroll!

A real highlight was around 8:30 AM when I was stopped four times on a single lap and offered breakfast. Everyone was just so incredibly kind. Late in the morning, we even managed a lap of the cricket ground accompanied by two nursery staff and ten amazing kids, who never stopped clapping and cheering us on.

As we approached 3 PM, about 20 people gathered to join me for the final lap. That was fantastic enough, but the sight of 20+ people waiting at the golf course was unbelievable. As we approached, the clapping started—but seeing the smile on my mum’s face is an image I’ll never forget. She looked so incredibly happy to see so many people turn out to remember her baby, Michelle.
Walking down North Park Drive toward Blackpool Cricket Club was absolutely amazing. There was more applause, more cheering, so many good friends, and even an appearance from the famous Bloomfield Bear! Wow, thank you.

The support continued into the evening where even more money was raised, heavily assisted by Blackpool FC’s Anthony Parr. Cheers, pal—you were great.
Overall, the 24 hours was a smash hit. A massive thank you to Amanda & Greg, Kelly & Buds, Claire, Stacey, Jambo, and every single member of the bar staff who worked so hard and sold raffle tickets.

Now for the final numbers:
21 laps of Stanley Park
Approx. 48 miles
Over 113,000 steps
But best of all... over £7,000 raised for MNDA!

What a truly beautiful way to celebrate and remember Michelle and Gordon.

It makes me feel very special to be a part of the cricketing family.
God bless you all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
