Saturday 21st August Roundup (22 August 2010)
Blackpool Pro Nimesh Perera has finally found some bowling form taking his league wicket tally from 11 to 18 with fugures of 7-20 against Preston on Saturday. Blackpool won the toss and decided to bat on an under prepared track and and outfield that looked more like a cow field than a cricket ground. Blackpool made 112 in 50 tedious overs. Ultra low bounce coupled with uncut grass in the outfield making it impossible to score fluently. Preston in reply were looking good until Perera came into the attack ruthlessly mopping up the middle and lower order. Rick Gleeson bolwed through to take 2 wickets including the key wicket of Preston Pro Bilal Asad. The 2nd XI had a more comfortable win, posting 205 for 6 (Outram 56) Preston were never in the game being bowled out for 95 for an early finish. The 3rd XI won easily by 6 wickets bolwing New Longton out for 77, John 'double ard' Caunce finishing whith remarkable figures of 6-4 off 8 overs. The 4th XI received a walkover after Charnock Richard could not raise a side.
