Colonel's
End Of Season Report
Sam's
boys in
the 3rd team deserve a special mention, as they gained promotion
for a second consecutive season and will play in Palace Shield Div 3 next
year, the highest placed 3rd team in the competition. Sam's personal
contribution with the ball was outstanding, with excellent support from
the likes of Harrison Clark, Paul Simpson and Kev Reid and a whole clutch
of others. The batting was held together by the reliable Ross Parker,
while young Jarred Bain notched up his first ton for the club on the main
ground. With several of these lads progressing to the 2nd X1 this season,
it proves what can be achieved through hard work and determination. Big
challenge next season in Div 3, but I am sure Sam and his boys will be up
for it.

BLACKPOOL
3rd XI END OF SEASON
REPORT
What
started as a season of high expectations for Blackpool ever developing 3rd
XI, ended with the sweat smell of success once again!
Blackpool
won their 2nd title championship in two years, from winning
Division 5 in 2007, Blackpool have never looked back, and now look forward
to the 2009 season in Division 3 of the Palace Shield.
The
main strength of Blackpool this season, has been the ability to bowl teams
out, having only failed in 3 league games to do so this season.
This is due to a combination of all the bowlers having different
aspects of their game which have shone through this season, and proved the
best bowling attack in the league by FAR! Keep working hard boys.
With
a great team spirit and attitude (jokes and idiots galore you know who
you are!) including every effort to get games on when the weather has been
against us this season, has found us taking valuable points to help us win
the league by a whopping 28 points!
This
season has seen Kev Reid make a valuable addition to the club he played at
as a junior, and the likes of Nani, Luke Smith, Tidmas, Birdy and Rattus make
their next step up in the cricket career, aswell as Ben Heath who we lost
to the 2nd team (well done) and the regulars Sam, Simmo, H
, Jarred, Matty B, and Ross (who all played 2nd team on
occasions) do what they do best WINNING, and making as always a good
contribution.
Goals
for next year, in for everyone to make a step up, and and especially in
the batting department, everyone is capable of holding the bat, just do it
on the the pitch!
Its
been a pleasure to captain all the fellas this year, and I look forward
to next season, and going for a 3rd title in three years, great
effort, we all deserve it!
Sam
Owen
